I’m Helen Heather, and I work with mental health because I’m passionate about raising awareness and helping people to help themselves. I love working with people and I am making it my mission to share what I have learned to help businesses proactively support and retain their staff by prioritising mental well-being.

I spent over twenty years teaching, first as a classroom teacher, then running my own departments, being responsible for whole year groups of students and managing teams of staff working within those year groups.

Since retraining as a counsellor and running my own practice, I have continued to expand my knowledge, understanding and experience of mental health issues and how they affect not just the individuals, but also the people around them.  Mental health issues can be created or magnified at work through the way they are (or aren’t) supported. I created Mindsets.Consulting to help companies identify and address the impact of poor mental health on their organisations.

Developing knowledge and skills about mental health can change us, our teams, and our business for the better.  I can help you and the people in your organisation to feel comfortable and confident in embracing good mental health practice, putting it at the heart of your organisation. I work confidentially, with honesty, empathy and integrity, as my aim is for everyone to feel supported in their place of work and for companies to protect their greatest asset: their staff.

I make my training and recommendations for your company straightforward, practical and jargon-free so that you are able to make valuable changes that have a positive and long-lasting impact.
